Unique Patented Design
The Fatstrippa™ is an immiscible liquid separator, which
operates underhydro static pressure and does not require any moving
parts. This results in the Fatstrippa™ being the only system
currently available with the capability to continuously and permanently
remove Fats, Oils & Greases (FOG's) from waste effluent.
The Strainer Basket
The incoming effluent enters the Fatstrippa™ unit whereupon
all large food solids are removed by the strainer basket (this
is emptied regularly by operators), the effluent then passes under
the first weir and into the main separation chamber.
Separation Chamber
The main separation chamber is contained under the horizontal
baffle (compression plate), which is shaped in such a manner as
to concentrate the separated Fats, Oils & Greases in one area
underneath the oil outlet valve. Settled silts (which will collect
in any waste process vessel), which pass through the solids strainer
basket are dispatched regularly by means of the integral silt
flush valve, a feature unique to the Fatstrippa™, which
ensures that the optimum residence time for effluent within the
system is always maintained.
Outlet Valve
The oil outlet valve consists of a cylindrical tube with a conical
insert and a plastic ball. The ball is made of a material with
an extremely accurate and stable Specific Gravity, which allows
the ball to float on the interface between the de-oiled effluent
and the FOG's. This ensures that if there are no FOG's present.
Oil Cassette & Flush Valve
The action of the de-oiled effluent passing under and over the
remaining weirs effectively "pumps" the FOG's from the
system and into the attached oil cassette. Settled silts (which
will collect in any waste process vessel), which pass through
the solids strainer basket are dispatched regularly by means of
the integral silt flush valve, a feature unique to the Fatstrippa™,
which ensures that the optimum residence time for effluent within
the system is always maintained.
Tested Technology
This technology has been repeatedly tested under various installation
conditions and kitchen environments (In particular Northumbrian
Water who independently verified results of 18 parts per million
after treatment by the Fatstrippa ™) and consistently betters
the demanded minimum level of FOG's pollution.
The Water Act
These standards are dictated both by the EU and local government
as well as various sections of 'The Water Act' which is enforceable
by the relevant utility company (Prosecutions under the water
act are criminal as opposed to civil). The current UK permissible
level for FOG's is 100 parts per million, however it is understood
that forthcoming EU legislation will be looking for levels as
low as 25 parts per million.
Building Regulations
The technology utilized by the Fatstrippa™ is patented and
copyrighted. The latest UK building regulations stipulate that
Drainage serving kitchens in commercial hot food premises should
be fitted with a Grease Separator complying designed in accordance
with BSEN 1825 Part 1 and designed in accordance with prEN 1825
Part 2. Or the drains are protected by another "effective"
means of grease "removal".
